Abstract

Can behavioral patterns predict job performance? This research explores the relationship between DISC behavioral styles (Dominant, Influential, Steady, and Conscientious) and professional performance through an evaluation using the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ). The study, conducted with 147 employees from an Ecuadorian Credit Union, examines three key performance dimensions: Task Performance, Contextual Performance, and Counterproductive Behaviors. Through robust statistical analysis including Pearson correlations, ANOVA, and Tukey post hoc tests, it was found that while DISC profiles do not significantly determine overall job performance, they do show specific correlations with individual components of the IWPQ. These results indicate that the DISC model, although valuable for evaluating specific aspects of workplace behavior, has limitations as a predictor of overall performance, opening new lines of research in organizational psychology.
